the one thing that is the common link between us all is that fact that the music, the sound is always changing, reseting itself and that the fraternity refuses to allow the music to wonder to a negative image.

if you listen to early jungle as compared to todays jungle, they are vastly different, today its pressure drop after pressure drop with minimal build and always a repetitive beat. the jungle vibe was built on long builds, constantly changing beats, and the end result was a well deserved, highly anticipated drop.

looking back on the last 10 years, you might remember when jungle was getting upwards of 200+ bpm, and the fraternity decided that was not where jungle would thrive.

you can also look back to when jungle fell off the front lines and went back underground and took back the vibe before it was lost to obscurity. if it wasnt for those key points in our history, we wouldnt have drum and bass as we know it.

now drum and bass has finally established itself as a global sound, thriving faster than almost any other music, simply because it is so diverse. jungle, drum and bass, jump up, raggae jungle, minimal, smooth and jazzy, etc etc. this is simply the reason that connects us all, any mood, any place, any time, jungle can step in and rules the roost.

the funny thing is, minimal is no different than the original jungle just blended with dubstep. so why the suprise. why the worry. as we can all see, there is a sound for each and every one of us. however, i must say that drum and bass has started to grace a repetition in its beats. what happened to the true jungle vibe, the flowing, improvish beats taking us through the long dark tunnel.

in my personal opinion, i wouldnt mind producers renewing their origins. it might make for some heavy vibes.
<link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml'
